Baja has a beautiful coastline and remote surfing spots, which can only be reached by cross-country or by boat. We are happy to announce the latest project in collaboration with the world-renowned professional surfer Jamie O'Brien, driving his customized Polaris General to explore the hidden "Lost Coast" Baja . 

This is one of the most epic constructions we have done with one of the biggest surfers in the industry to explore Baja in a new way. The Lost Coast has no paved roads, and 350 miles of stunning coastline can only be reached by off-road or by boat. 

Since seeing Polaris's major development on General, we have wanted to build some kind of expedition that can be used to travel for several days without chasing support. In the past year, we have brought together the best brands in the industry to create our friend and surfer Jamie O'Brien, who is affectionately called JOB, he can stack surfboards on it and cruise on the beach, looking for Surf, fishing and fun.

The Baja area we are going to explore is called the "Lost Coast" due to inconvenient transportation. Most people stay on the highway and turn left at Mama Espinosas in El Rosario. We will turn right and explore the "Lost Coast" from El Rosario south to Guerrero Negro. Due to the diversity of the coastline, the area can be used for epic surfing, fishing and camping. I can't wait to go to Baja and go off-road exploration with Jamie O'brien.

The Polaris General platform is the perfect balance between the high performance of RZR and the practicality of Ranger. We asked our good friend and off-road racing champion Phil Blurton to help us complete this build. His company, No Limit Racing Development, has built some of the best races and played the role of UTV in the business. Although he is good at building Can-Am-based machines, he also builds and manufactures products for other platforms. 

Like all cars we make, we start with safety. Phil built a custom cage and front bumper for us. Although we know many builders who can build custom wazoo parts for us, we like to build structures that customers can actually buy. In this way, we show you the products that can actually be realized. What I like about Phil is that he participates in the races he builds and conducts more tests than any other racer I know. The direct link between racing and product development is real. You break it-you redesign it-and break this part again many times until you find the magical balance.

I like this version very much. Next we will make a 4-seater version. The graphic pack designed by Mad Media, or the painting that European racers like to call, is a return to the art of World War II fighter jets, combined with camouflage patterns to match the whole theme with Jamie's wit​​. We asked our friends at SignArt to handle the packaging. There are many packaging companies that may do it cheaper, but no one does it better than SignArt.

Unless you like to change your flat shoes, don't skimp on your tires. Just don't. Yes, BFGoodrich tires are more expensive than regular UTV tires, but they are worth it. BFGoodrich distilled their 50 years of off-road racing experience into tires that you can buy for trucks, SUVs or UTVs. We used a 30-inch Mud-Terrain T/A® KM3 to reduce the hole. They work well in sand and hard bags.

We wrap the tires on some KMC Wheels XS234 Addict 2 Beadlocks wheels with satin black finishes and red inner rings. They look great and have the extra feature provided by a bead lock that prevents the tire from peeling off the wheel when you push it hard while cornering. For this version, it may be a bit overkill, but it is good to know that when you enter a curve at 60 mph, you are sure that your wheel and tire assembly will not malfunction.

To be honest, most UTV stock suspension is enough, but we decided to get more from this version, so we added the HCR Suspension Long Travel Suspension Kit. HCR produces a large number of competition-proven products for all UTV platforms, so if you need more UTV suspensions, they are definitely a good choice. Many people have crazy ideas about what type of impact they need, but the truth is more about the setting of the tune.

Regardless of the manufacturer, the shock absorber's inventory settings are usually set to suit the "normal" person, but once you start to modify a vehicle with aftermarket suspension, you will need to readjust and upgrade your shock absorber. There are many companies that will help you solve this problem, but we will cheat. I just called Randy Anderson of Walker Evans Racing and asked for his help. Randy is one of the most important suspension experts in the world. He has set shock absorbers for all products from Trophy Trucks to Indy Cars, so it is easy to ask him to set shock absorbers for our Walker Evans General 2.5 Shocks. 

Most people will not touch their exhaust pipes, but I personally like to add aftermarket exhaust pipes to the sound. Now I know it will never sound like V8, but a slight push in this direction will help. XDR Off-Road Competition Exhaust not only sounds better, but also performs better, and has a beautiful metal heat sink and brush protector. These machines have a lot of plastic, but it never made sense to me that they had plastic heat shields on the exhaust.

If you have ever done any serious off-roading, then you know that stock lights will not cut it. We have added a complete Baja Designs package, including S2 Sport Pair work/scene LED, Squadron Sport, Pair Spot LED, LED A-pillar installation, LED horizontal installation and LED dome light on switch. The reason I like Baja Designs is not only that they make fantastic lights, but also that they complete the packaging by making excellent installation solutions. Interior lights are a detail that makes riding at night full of fun. In addition, we plan to do some night fishing, so the four frontal Squadron Sport LED lights will be very suitable for this.

The second most important safety function is the seat and seat belt. PRP provided us with their camouflage RS suspension seats and custom red 4.3 seat belts to match the theme of the graphic pack designed by Mad Media. The important thing to understand is that PRP has been manufacturing seats for racing cars for a long time, so combining their seats with 5-point safety belts can save your life. I have crashed UTV many times and some of them are big. Because I have a proper seat and seat belt and a full helmet, I just walked away with a sore neck. Since we are only cruising this beast, Biltwell equipped Jamie with the Gringo S ECE helmet to make riding simple and stylish.  

I cannot stress enough-upgrade your safety equipment! 

Anyone who follows Jamie's antics on his social media knows that he is just for fun, so we added a complete Rockford Forsgate sound system so that he can play music while cruising on the beach and desert. The great thing about this Rockford Fosgate Universal System Phase 3 kit is that they really consider the relationship between the hosts in the dashboard. The device is compact, takes up almost no space on the dashboard, and connects to your mobile phone via Bluetooth like your car. Their speakers are also as hard as nails. With years of research and development in marine audio systems, Rockford Fosgate has developed a speaker system that can be used on your equipment for many years. The system we used has a total of 4 speakers, two pods are installed on the rear cage pillars, and two speakers are installed at the lower part of the front of the cab. They will hear us swinging miles away!

Every off-road vehicle needs communication. How do you call for help? We have added race radio style communications to every car we make. Hell, every car we own has a racing radio. Rugged Radios puts this UTV specific package together so you can talk to each other and other UTVs over the radio. Trust me, this is the clutch. It keeps everyone on the same page, so you won't waste time trying to find each other or trying to yell due to engine noise. You can connect up to 4 people, play music from your phone via Bluetooth, and buy a helmet directly from Rugged Wired, ready to use.

Any vehicle you drive should be equipped with enough fire extinguishers and be easy to access, especially in UTV because of the possibility of overturning. Install the quick release UTV fire extinguisher kit on your UTV! Fortunately, our entire accessory kit comes from Assault Industries, one of which can be easily installed on the rear cage column. Assault also equipped us with Hellfire General Front Grill, Bomber Convex Center Mirror, Explorer Side Mirrors-Red Accent, 3 aluminum air caps-Red Accent, Hellfire V2 shift knob, and of course a 350R suede steering wheel.

A new and very cool safety accessory we added is the Outer Limits Supply Waterproof 6000 series first aid kit. In most UTV rides, you are far enough away from help, so it should always be in your vehicle. I personally had to use it to treat some minor injuries that might stop the fun, but instead I was able to mend myself and continue riding. 

Now let's talk about all the interesting things we are going to add to this UTV, starting with the FF31 refrigerator freezer in the Black Forest. I mean why do you need a cooler when you can have a refrigerator? The worst thing in the world is to spend a few days on a long trip without having a cold drink in the hot desert or Baja Beach to refresh you.

One of the other cool accessories we added is the Water Port Rinse Kit, which contains 5 gallons of water, so you can rinse it multiple times after surfing or long-distance riding. If you are from Southern California, you will inevitably see surfers showering in parking lots and roadsides, pouring gallons of water on their heads. This is a more civilized way to do this.

WARN provided us with an AXON 45 Powersport winch. 50 feet 1/4 inch steel wire rope, roller guide, rocker digital control switch and digital wired remote control. If we have to solve this problem, we will encounter some serious troubles, but we know that Jamie’s staff will use this feature of the car creatively. Factory 55 uses the world's safest UTV/ATV winch hook for this job.  

And of course. Belt-if you don't have the right tools, this is the most painful thing. Savage UTV sent the Savage Tool Kit, let us move on. It has an open space in the foam to add Genera-specific belt change tools. This space is designed to fit most OEM belt replacement tools.
